One More In The PICU

Sophia is doing pretty good this morning. Her lungs are still not back to 100%. Her left lung in particular is pretty diminished. So today she will be receiving more respiratory treatments to open up that lung.
Her systemic oxygen saturation is in the 70's today. She is getting about half a liter of oxygen, which isn't much. Once her lungs are more open I am sure she will be off the oxygen.
They are giving her some formula via her g-tube. And they have changed her pain management from morphine to longer acting oxycodone. She is also getting some ibuprofen on a regular basis every four hours.
She has been sucking her binky and seems much more awake. But, she is still pretty sleepy.
I will try to post a picture later.
Comments:
Mike took several slips of paper with him to the barber shop with the web address of the blog to hand out to several friends/customers that have been asking for it. He has not been sleeping well and got up last night in the middle of the night to look at the last picture of Sophia that you posted yesterday after they removed the vent.
we will be up late this afternoon to see her and will take Patty home to get some clean clothes for both of you. In the meantime, give Sophia big kiss for me and if you talk to your mom, ask her to bring up that brochure of the place she and Bob stayed at Lake of the Ozarks if you happen to think of it - otherwise, I'll catch her later and ask her for it. try to take an afternoon nap, honey.

She sounds like she's coming around and improving, slowly but surely. Still thinking of you guys.

Sophia seems to be progressing very slowly but very positively, each day she moves a little forward.
She is in much better physical shape when she went into this surgery and it has really helped.
I am too short to kiss her but I held her hand and she held mine.
