Out of the PICU
Everybody do a little dance. We are out of the ICU and moved to the regular floor.
Sophia seems to be tolerating oxygen weaning. I just need to make sure her nurses and doctors are diligent about getting her off of oxygen. Obviously, the care is different on the floor. The nurses have more patients and do not do anything to rock the boat. But I am shooting to get her off of the O2 by tonight. Right now, she is only on a very small amount (1/4 liter).
Her chest xray was clearer this morning and she is much more awake. Patty held her this morning and both her and Sophia seemed to really enjoy it.
Plus, she had a good poop a few minutes ago.
We are on our way.

Congratulations! It must be so encouraging to see her progress going so well. Keep up the good work, Sophia! You're doing great:)!
Sophia wanted me to hold her hand while the big bad nurses messed with her.
It is so wonderful to know she can ask for comfort from her Grandma and it will be right there.
I got 1/2 a smile today, shooting for a full one tomorrow.
What a sweetie she is, but very tired and eyes are very sunken. Hope tomorrow brings more progress towards going home

I forgot to mention that I did the MONKEY HA HA dance and she watched but thought I looked ridiculous.
I'm SO glad she's on a regular floor! I've been gone for 2 days and miss you all already! I am proud of all of you for keeping strong. I am especially proud of Sophia. She is incredibly brave and definitely a fighter. All the love she gets makes a difference. She knows she is loved as she is very loving. She is one of my greatest teachers.
Hang in there! I hope to see you soon. HaHa Nay Nay lil Nakie Monkey. You'll be scootin' again in no time. I love you all!

Hooray! I am so glad that she's doing so well:). How nice that Patty got to hold Sophia; I'm sure she felt so comforted by that.
Take care!
Take care!
Wahoo!!!! Definitely doing a happy dance for you guys right now! I think very few people can truly appreciate a "good poop", that is so great! (It just made me chuckle, it's like we have a secret understanding of the small and simple, that most wouldn't get). :) I am so excited for you guys, hope all continues on the good course you are on.
Wonderful! So glad for you guys that things are progressing, we'll now begin praying for the removal of oxygen and papers for home! She looks great in all the pics, what a little sweetie! Glad that Patty was able to hold her a while, I know how much that meant to me the first time after surgery.
I'm definitely doing the happy dance now!! It's so great to hear that Sophia is doing so well. You are all still in my prayers.
I was so happy to call the PICU and find out you were moved, before reading this post. I am glad you are getting closer to going home!
