Hospital Update

Hi everyone. Sophia is still doing good.
She still needs IV antibiotics, so no talk of discharge yet.

Thanks for all the comments. Your support is so important to Patty and I.
Comments:
When is her regular doctor going to be back from vacation!? You're so right, it shouldn't be this hard. Glad you're standing your ground though, because you and Patty DO know her, her case, and her needs, better than any new doctor could ever hope to!

What in the ............is going on over at this wonderful reputation hospital??? My sister is a serious diabetic. If when she has to be hospitalized, the doctors started messing with her med's ............well she would be in serious trouble. Does her regular doctor have someone that is taking his calls? Can't these people tell that they are not dealing with 'dummies' for parents???? If you see this old lady running through this hospital..........well maybe I should run at a park today. Keep up the good work and continue to stand up for Sophia and her proper care. Thank you! I will now get down off my soap box!!!

Sorry to hear your still having trouble getting Sophia the care you know she needs. We as parents are our childrens greatest advocates and I'm so thankful that Sophia has you as parents to take care of her. I'm praying for you guys.

I am so sorry to see that Sophia is in the hospital. :-( I can say that after spending 6 months in the ICU at two hospitals you need to keep your eye on EVERYTHING that the nurses and the doctors do or want to do. It is extremely frustrating, I remember.
The last time Matthew was in the hospital here in LV... I spent one entire week by his side... 24 hours a day b/c I was afraid to leave. They were not taking care of him!!!! I feel sorry for anyone that needs to be in the hospital w/ their child.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you...

Sounds like not much has changed since the early '90's, aside from thoracic surgery. I think the elitist attitude is dangerous, even life threatening for all. I think you should expose this. I'd document everything!

Sophia is so lucky to have such intelligent, wonderful patents and you & Patty.

I feel your frustration. It certainly should not be that hard, to get the best care for your daughter, in a hospital like that. They are supposed to know what they are doing, yet they keep screwing with you guys.

My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you.

It's ok to rant and rave as they say. You are doing the right thing by asking the questions about your little angel. No one knows their child better than the parents. You must always do what
feel right in your heart.
Never 2nd guess yourself.
Blessings.
Susie
