Sophia is in the hospital

We went to the pediatrician today because Sophia had been coughing and vomiting overnight. Her breathing was labored and her color was a little blue. She had been sniffly the last couple of days but for the most part wasn't letting it get her down. The pediatrician was concerned enough to send us to the ER. The ER was concerned enough to admit us. So we are in the ICU getting IV fluids and antibiotics. She has horrible infection in both ears and there is concern of a larger infection but we won't know until the cultures have a chance to grow.
I guess this is just one of those things with heart kids. Every cold, flu, or cough has the potential to become a critical situation.
Hopefully, she will not have to be hospitalized for very long.
Comments:
You are all in my thoughts tonight. Hoping for all negative cultures for the 'larger infection.'

Poor baby she was having such a great time doing all those toddler things and I guess it was too much for her.
I went to the hospital and she was fussy but still wanted to get down on the floor to play.
She never complains and I know her little ears must be hurting, she takes it all in stride and accepts it all as normal for her.
We adults should take a lesson from this strong little girl.

Michael, Patty, and Sophia, I hope your stay is a short one and that your cute little button is feeling much better soon. She's a tough little cookie.

Oh, poor Sophia! God Bless this little child, she is so strong and so amazing! It is unbeleiveable to think of all that she has been through and she is still a fighter -- that is tough stuff!!! I hope that the cultures come back negative for any other infections and that the ears are taken care of quickly. I'm sure Sophia wants to get home soon, so that she can practice walking :)

I'm so sorry to hear that Sophia is not feeling well and in the hospital. We will be praying for her, please keep us updated on how things are going.

I just popped on this morning, so sorry to hear the news. She is in our prayers and I hope she can kick this thing quickly. Praying for a negative on the larger infection.

Praying that Sophia will feel better soon and will have a short hospital stay.
