We are Home

We are home and resting. It sure feels good to be home.

The doctors' consensus on Sophia's hospitalization was respiratory distress caused by pneumonia. She also had two horrible ear infections, likely from the same infection that caused the pneumonia.

But she is much better now and we sure are glad to be home. Sophia clapped the whole way home in the car.

I will post some type of summary of our hospital stay in the next day or so.

Thanks for all the support we received from all of you.

In the meantime, I posted a few pics of our stay on flickr.
Comments:
So happy that you are home. I liked the pics on flickr. Looks like Sophia had some fun with the Pet Pals for Patients. What a great idea.

I'm sure you will all sleep well tonight.

Glad to hear that you're all home now. What a relief that must be!
(Running off to flickr now)

Glad to hear your back home! So sweet that she was so happy she clapped all the way home, she must have been thrilled when you pulled in the drive. Sending hugs for Sophia.

I am so glad that you are home! I loved the pictures. I remember growing up, it seems like Grandma Susan and even her mothr always had a pet. The pictures were great!!!

Love Nana Holley

Wow, you guys have been busy. I hadn't been to visit in a few-ish days and so much has happened. Sorry about all the grief you rec'd from the hospital in regards to Sophia's care. I have had to tell docs before that I may not have a medical degree but I am a "Milesologist." He is my specialty, just as Sophia is yours. You and your wife are Sophiaologists, if you will. Glad she is home and things are looking up.

On a side note, we have had the whole genetic work up done. Everything came back normal but we still seem to have immunodeficiency issues that have not been defined. Mid-2005 Miles' spleen became enlarged 15 times normal size and there was never an explanation. We had the whole hematology work up and no definitive result. Also, he had an ear infection this summer that turned into pneumonia...resistant form of strep numo (if that is how you spell it).

Hope things just get better from here.

So happy to read you are home and Sophia is well :) I have checked in regularly to read though I haven't had time to comment. She has been in our prayers constantly. Great photos! :)

Glad to hear that you are home & it sounds like Sophia is glad, too! I love the pics of her with all of the dogs - that sounds like a great idea :)
